Newbattle at War a history of the Parish at war   

I am originaly from Edinburgh.   I am interested in WW1 mainly because of my many relatives who served in this conflict.     My paternal grandfather was a  6th batt. Royal Scots territorial and he went overseas with the 8th. Batt. Royal Scots.   He survived the war and was always proud to be an Old Contemptible.     My maternal grandfather and his brother were 4th. Batt. Royal Scots territorials and both were killed at Gallipoli.
