About Me
Currently doing research into my Grandfather - Lt AD Jones - who was the Adjutant of 8 Btn Royal Scots from December 1916 until 11th/12th April 1918 when he was shot and taken POW. Once this is completed then will move onto my father – Scottish Horse in North Africa and Italy in WW2…….any help welcome. Post a CommentOops! The words you entered did not match the given text. Hi Gavin these are entries from my database about your Grandfather's movements with the Battalion. Major Todd was the acting CO, the 3rd CO in a month. Colonel Gemmill was killed on 25th of March, Colonel Humphreys was wounded on 11th April 6 days after he arrived from the 7th Black Watch, he arrived on same transport as your Grandfather. The HQ was in the area near Paradis Church. I have the 8th RS war diary and happy to dig out relevant entry.
