Digging In Open Day - August 28th

Recently our group took part in an Open Day Digging In, Pollok Park, Glasgow. There's been much recent work there, and the new trenches and dugout really are beginning to give a taste of life in a WW1 trench. The University of Glasgow made this excellent film with commentary by friend of the group and renowned battlefield archaeologist Professor Tony Pollard of UofG.

Prof Tony Pollard said: "Living Historians help bring history to life showing what it was like for soldiers on both sides fighting on the front line."

The record crowd of over 400 on the day would appear to agree with Tony.
